Comics I bought this week
I only bought one comic this week. Red Sonja #5.

So what comics did you get this week?
I just read Back Issue #14. It's a magazine about old comics series and has interviews with the creators. Unlike all the magazines about current comics, which are mostly press realeases and ass kissing, this magazine can be more honest about which comics are good or bad. I get to learn about some old comics that I've never read and read about some of my favorites. Lots of behind the scene remembrances by the creators involved.

Home sick today, so I haven't got any new comics yet. But you're dead on about most comic mags. Even the Comics Journal gets annoying. Admittedly, I haven't read it in years, but it was Gary Groth's mouthpiece and tended to dismiss anything that was mainstream, whether it was good or bad (didn't hurt that most mainstream comics DID actually suck).
And what's worse than comics mags is most video game mags, which, when not reprinting actual press releases, seem to have reviews originating from the producers of the games.

I haven't read a video game magazine in a long time. There is just nothing to read in them. They are worse than ever. Today's mags make an EGM from 1992 look like heavy reading.
